From June 16–19, 2026, the annual conference of the European Academy of Management (EURAM) took place in Kristiansand, Norway. Under the theme “Navigating High Waters – Managing in an Age of Disruption,” researchers from around the world came together to discuss current developments in management research.

Prof. Dr. Julia de Groote, Chair of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Research at the University of Wuppertal, contributed to several conference formats. As part of two panel symposia, she shared perspectives on the role of resilience in navigating uncertainty and on the role of family businesses in entrepreneurial ecosystems.

In addition, she presented the research paper “Forming and Safeguarding Familiness in the Business-Owning Family – A Multimethod Investigation.” The study examines how familiness emerges and is sustained within business-owning families.

EURAM 2026 provided valuable opportunities to reconnect with international colleagues, exchange ideas, and engage in inspiring discussions on current developments in family business, entrepreneurship, and management research.
