The Jackstädt Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation Research at the University of Wuppertal invites submissions for the research workshop “Wealth and Entrepreneurship: Interdisciplinary Perspectives,” taking place in Wuppertal on 8–9 April 2027.
The workshop brings together scholars interested in the relationship between entrepreneurship and wealth from different theoretical, empirical, and methodological perspectives. Topics include wealth creation and distribution through entrepreneurship, access to entrepreneurial opportunities and financing, investor influence, and inequality and social closure within entrepreneurial ecosystems.
We are delighted to welcome Céline Bessière, Paris Dauphine University (PSL University), as keynote speaker.
We invite extended abstracts of approximately 1,000 words as well as full papers. Work in progress and submissions from scholars at different career stages and disciplinary backgrounds are explicitly welcome.
Submission deadline: 15 November 2026
The workshop is organized within the Volkswagen Foundation-funded project Capital Cities: Understanding Wealth Concentration in the Startup Ecosystems of Berlin and Paris.
Further information is available in the full Call for Papers and on the project website.
